Now that summer is officially over, we'd like to take a moment to look back and reflect on another amazing Berkshire Opera Festival season.
2024 was a year of firsts. For the first time, we held a community sing-along and a free family concert as part of our education and community outreach initiatives. Our workshop performance of Anthony Davis and Joan Ross Sorkin's The Reef was another first, and it was a rare opportunity to experience a new opera in its early stages of development. Our mainstage production of Faust was our first foray into French grand opera, and for the first time we partnered with another organization, the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, to ensure we have a performance home for years to come.
As Co-Founder and Director of Production Jonathon Loy mentions in the video above, we want to thank you all for making this another great season. We could not have had all of these successful firsts without you!
