CHORUS

BOF announces auditions for the Berkshire Opera Festival Chorus for our summer 2026 mainstage production of Gaetano Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. Auditions will be held for the following chorus sections:

 

SOPRANOS

ALTOS

TENORS

BARITONES/BASSES

Successful applicants will be added to the Berkshire Opera Festival Chorus roster and eligible for employment in future productions.  Successful applicants will also be considered for section leader positions.

 

Auditions will be held Friday, March 20, 2026 from 6:00-10:00pm and Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 10:00am-5:00pm in Great Barrington, MA. Candidates must prepare two arias or art songs, at least one of which must be in French or Italian.  An accompanist will be provided for these auditions free of charge.

 

All choristers are paid. All rehearsals and performances will take place during the month of August 2026. Chorus rehearsals are held on selected evenings and weekends.

Berkshire Opera Festival offers a variety of volunteer opportunities.  Donating your time helps BOF keep our promise of fiscal responsibility while giving you the chance to interact with our exceptional artists and patrons – and have a great time doing it!

BOF staff will periodically reach out with new volunteer opportunities, such as:

  • General office assistance

  • Artist pick up/drop off from the airport or train station

  • Community outreach

  • Distributing marketing material​​​
